Alright! Exciting work for us Bako-wise. Lenny has
built his own studio and dubbed himself
engineer/mastererer. So far he has recorded Tubers,
Solid Pony, and Deep And Holy Sea. More Tubers and
Pony in the future as well as Verde. I am struggling
with computers and laying out the new Solid Pony CD/LP
and a few ads. What could be next for us to tackle?
One day we will cut our own albums and build our own
guitars... not unlike Dead Moon?
Out now: Matty Pop Chart "Everyone Does Everything"
LP and Solid Pony "Collar to Cuff" CD! Also, Bako
Comp CD - A Bakery Outlet Sampler: track from each
bako-release and a few from future and/or hopeful
bako-releases under one roof. I am happy to listen to
all these songs compiled from people I truly love and
look to for aural inspiration. Mastered by our own
lenny and made to look visually beautiful by musician,
artist, webmaster, friend Erin Tobey. And it is cheap
to free if you see us at a show! -Rich

Hallo! Just back from Europe tour when some
Bako-friends, Matty Pop Chart & Des_Ark, stopped for a
short while here in St. Augustine to play and do some
bodysurfing. Spending time with them stoked me to be
a part of my friends' music somehow. Matty's LP
"Everyone Does Everything" is just about done. Out
Now are Tubers "Shell Out" CD and Environmental Youth
Crunch "Let's Ride" CD. Tubers LP will be done in a handful
of weeks. Also a new Tubers organic cotton shirt and
button this time drawn by sean mahan and designed by
Erin Tobey illustrating that crucial North Shore
instruction given to Rick by Turtle: "When the wave
breaks here, don't be there, or you're gonna get
drilled. .. " Still in the works are Solid Pony
CD/LP, Reactionary 3 CD, Cassette LP, Old Growth "?"
CD/LP, Twelve Hour Turn "Expense of Flight" CD,
Bako-CD sampler, and Emperor X CD/Book.

Summer News

Hallo everyone. Tubers "Shell Out" CD/LP is almost birthed. A few more steps were taken into our own hands on this one - recorded by our own Lenny Rutland at his house and mastered by friend Alan Mills here in St. Augustine. Should be done by the time we set out for tour in Europe with our great friends and new "label mates" Environmental Youth Crunch. Their first full length "Let's Ride" will be finished just in time for tour as well. It saddens us all that Solid Pony will not be able to ride as originally planned, but will surely see many other tours in the future. We will also have new Tubers shirts and buttons for the trip. Still on deck and on their way: Reactionary 3 CD, Solid Pony CD/LP, Matty Pop Chart LP, 12 Hour Turn "Expense of Flight" CD, Emperor X Cd, and Bako-sampler CD. Soon! - Rich

We are pleased to finally have the Old Growth / Science of Yabra Split 7" added to the catalog, as well as Ten Volt Shock's new full-length 6 NULL 3. Hallo! I've just finished baking maybe the first ever vegan, organic kolacckis- an old polish treat my mom used to make when i was a child. Ten Volt Shock "6null3" cd is done! Their second proper album, with different artwork from the LP, brings forward, angular punk rock without pretense from freiburg, germany. Soon will have split 7" with Science of Yabra and Old Growth. Also in the works is Solid Pony cd/lp "to the sea", a Bako-compilation sampler, Twelve Hour Turn collection cd titled "the expense of flight" and Emperor X cd/book. Thats all for now!
Beginning-of-the Year Baking

Here were are in October already, and that means "everyone's favorite holiday" is around the corner: THE FEST V! Come see The Beat Buttons, Solid Pony, Erin Tobey, Tubers, Verde and many more in Gainesville on October 27-29. Please forgive us for indirectly advertising for Pabst Blue Ribbon on our website!
Tubers/Solid Pony Yurp tour was zupa! Danke, Ingo! Sean Mahan's (artist for 12 Hour Turn, Floor, Solid Pony, Beat Buttons, etc) "Verde" cd is here after a long labor; you can smell it permeating the whole bakery house... or it might be the pineapple empanadas he and Kelly made the other night. Also very close to finished is a 8.5x11 print of one of my favorites of his, so now you won't have to drop any serious dough to put some of his artwork on your wall. Both were ready for his art show in Brooklyn September 30. Also in the works is a split 7" by Old Growth and Science of Yabra. This is also a split release between Bakery and Dead Tank Records. Ten Volt Shock's second LP "6null3" has also arrived, and we will begin work on the CD very soon as well. We are very excited to be a part of releasing this and working with Xmist. Jacksonville native Chad Metheny aka Emperor X is about to record 40 or so songs telling a story of a fictional town in California which will be released on several CDs by several labels, including his own Discos Mariscos. We will release one, too. Chad has also been recording Solid Pony's second album this fall. Tubers buttons and organic cotton tubers shirts are done. Tschuss!
Tubers and Solid Pony Go To Yurp

As we speak, Rich, Lenny, Jacob and Jeff are packing their backpacks to prepare for a month and a half long tour of Europe. Solid Pony will be playing shows with Tubers from June 1 - June 18; Tubers will go the rest alone. Look to the Shows page to find out which Bavarian hamlet is closest to your town. Thanks very much to Ingo and The Company With the Golden Arm for booking and organizing. (Look at the Tubers tour poster, designed by Erin Tobey, featuring artwork by Rose Marie Homer Diem.)
Our newest release, Verde's The Undeserved Current CD, will be at the plant soon. Verde is the recording project of beloved Florida artist Sean Mahan (most well-known for making album art for such bands as Twelve Hour Turn, Floor and others). Expect this to be ready by mid-June. Full-color prints by Sean Mahan and Bloomington artist Erin Tobey will also become available during the summer. Keep it real, boiii.

Several things that we'd been waiting on have finally come in: Des Ark LPs, Beat Buttons LPs, and CDs and LPs for Old Growth. These are all available from the No Idea and Dead Tank websites.
Our humble webmaster has finally taken the initiave to figure out what the deal was with several gliches on the site. Hopefully everything is lining up right and visible and not looking stupid, even if you're running Internet Explorer. Very sorry for taking so long to get our act together.

The Autumn at the Bakery

We are plugging away here in the Bako kitchen, preparing many sweet audio treats to get the jump on your adult-onset diabetes. We now feature MP3s for nearly all the Bakery bands, found on the band and album sites. We are also working on a collaborative comp with No Idea Records featuring songs from new Bako and No Idea releases. Look for this in the next few months! In the near future you can also look forward to new t-shirts, grocery bags, buttons, prints by Sean Mahan and other surprises.
The schedule for THE FEST 4 is finalized and up on their website. We know there are a million of your favorite bands that you want to see, but try to make time for the Beat Buttons, Solid Pony, Tubers, Cassette and Erin Tobey.
We're Working On It
Posted 09.28.05
Bakery HQ is busy preparing its upcoming releases and the website is slowly coming into its own. Continued apologies for stuff looking weird or images being missing. We're working on browser compatibility and other things (sorry, Internet Explorer users). MP3s coming very soon!
Also! Many Bakery Outlet bands are playing the much-anticipated FEST 4 in Gainesville on November 18, 19 & 20. One thousand bands are playing, including the Beat Buttons, Tubers, Solid Pony, Erin Tobey & Cassette. Get your tickets in advance, dude, because things are gonna get CROWDED.
New Website! Obviously!

As you can see, Bakery Outlet has a new face to show the internet community. We asked our good friend
and Bakery Outlet denizen Erin Tobey to usher us into the twenty-first century with a digital make-over, and
after many years of toil she has finally finished. Thank you, Erin! May your good work be rewarded with endless cookies and coffee at the internet cafe. Please excuse us for the next few days while we work out the bugs and get everything ship shape.
